My name is James Strachan but everyone calls me Shug.


I’ve spent most of the last 25 years running my own metal fabrication business. I’ve made all sorts of things for the commercial world, including, fitness equipment, bollards, car parts and even golf training devices.

I’ve always loved making animals for friends and family and as I’ve gotten older this has become my primary focus. Each dog is hand designed by me (or one of my super-talented team members) and then laser cut to precise standards.

    What are shipping times and costs?

    By ordering a Metal Dog, you're not just buying an item off the shelf; you're commissioning a bespoke piece of art, uniquely crafted to your
    specifications. As we hold no stock and each creation is made to order,
    your one-of-a-kind metal art piece requires approximately 14-21 business days to be meticulously constructed and shipped to you, ensuring a personal touch in every detail.

    What payment methods can I use?

    Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, JCB, Visa Electron. The total will be charged to your card when the order is shipped.

    What is your exchanges, returns and refunds policy?

    As each metal dog art piece is custom-made to order, we are unable to offer exchanges. If your item arrives damaged, you may return it for a full refund or request a replacement. Please provide photo evidence of the damage to proceed with the return.
